Full-Time Officials
How are we organised?
In addition to the full time officials and office staff at Knaresborough two representatives of each of the ranks of constable, sergeant and inspector/chief inspector are elected to represent each of the territorial Areas. Further representatives at each rank are elected for headquarters / traffic / CID and female reserved place.
Whilst separate rank branch boards meet on a quarterly basis, in North Yorkshire greater emphasis is placed on operating as a Joint Branch Board (JBB). The separate rank boards and the Joint Branch Board meet quarterly, details of the meetings can be found elsewhere on the intranet site.
We have a panel of fully trained 'discipline friends' to assist and advise you on discipline matters. These discipline friends are at all ranks. Mal Taylor, Mark Botham, Will Scarlett, Nigel Day and Tim Hutchinson.
In addition to this there is a Joint Branch Board Executive committee, which is comprised of the full time officials, the chairman and secretary of each separate rank board, the health and safety leader and any regional post holders who are members of the North Yorkshire Joint Branch Board. The Executive meets monthly.
How do I contact the Federation?
In an emergency the three full-time officials run an out-of-hours on call rota. Details of the on-call representative are held by the Force Control Rooms.
