Treasury Announcement on Pensions Tax Relief

You will be aware that the Treasury has this morning made a further announcement on proposed changes to pensions tax relief, following the Chancellor’s Budget announcement and the publication of a discussion document over the summer.

We previously responded to the HMRC consultation, which is available on the Police Federation website www.polfed.org However, it is important to note that these proposed changes have changed from what was originally proposed during the consultation process.
I appreciate that many of our members will be concerned and contacting local Branch Board offices to find out how it will affect them personally but it is important that we provide the correct information. We are therefore consulting with the Home Office and our professional advisors to establish any impact that these proposals may have on our members and I will circulate this information when available.
