The next edition of the Federation Express magazine will be available in early August and has some competitions for you to win prizes..

CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR BOOKINGS OF WELFARE LODGES AND STATIC CARAVAN

From Monday 12th May 2008 we will be taking bookings for 3 night breaks (based on the survey completed last year) for the units at Limefitt Park and Fallbarrow. Please ring the Federation office to secure a booking (to cater for expected demand and in the interests of fairness in the first instance you will be only allowed one booking for one period for one unit,)

The available dates and prices for all units are as follows:

24th - 26th December 2008 inclusive @ £150
27th - 30th December 2008 inclusive @ £150
31st December 2008 - 2nd January 2009 @ £150

Work in progress:-

1. We are currently trying to put together a Post Incident course aimed at Firearms officers and Custody Staff. We are also looking to schedule some more mid service and pre Retirement courses.
2. We are exploring the possibility of running a combined financial (provided by Pen-Life) and legal (provided by Askew Bunting) advice surgery on the East Coast.
3. We will soon be announcing a date for a meeting with all occupants of police accommodation affected by the proposed sales.

SHIFTS

The implementation date for shifts has been renegotiated with the Chief Constable. He has agreed with the Joint Branch Board that it is imperative we get this right. The implementation date will therefore now be 1st December 2008 which means you must have your duty rosters by 1st September 2008. We are still negotiating on shift patterns following the May and July ballots. As soon as we have more information we will ensure you all get an update.

FINANCIAL PLANNING SUREGERIES

Iin light of the changes in the economy Larry Bignall of Hanson Wealth Management will be running Financial Planning Surgeries - for serving AND retired federated ranks at our offices on the following dates:

Friday 12th September 11am x 3pm

Appointments are for 30 minutes you will need to complete a wills questionnaire before you attend. Please ring the Federation office to book an appointment.

WILLS SURGERIES

Liz Kavanagh of Linder Myers Solicitors will be running wills surgeries between 10am and 4pm at the Federation office on the following dates:

23rd October 2008 and 12th December 2008.

Appointments are for 30 minutes you will need to complete a wills questionnaire before you attend.

GORVINS Solicitors will be providing Matrimonial Surgeries at our offices from 10am x 4pm on the following dates:

2nd September 2008; 6th October 2008;
3rd November 2008; 1st December 2008.

LINDER MYERS Solicitors will be providing Matrimonial Surgeries at our offices from11am x 3pm on the following dates: 26th August 2008.
